The Meade County Young Leaders Network (MCYLN) met bright and early on Aug. 29 to jump head first into a community service project. The group pledged to clear the right-of-way on Main Street in Brandenburg, Ky. The retaining wall at the beginning of the road has been overgrown for many years, hiding a historical stone wall that used to lead up to an old, white Victorian home. Before the ivy and weeds covered the hill, many years ago, one of the few remaining items of Meade County’s historic downtown was once properly maintained. It shined as a marker for those making their way down Main Street, to view what few places were left after the tornado of 1974.
