IAN PETTIT

Ian Pettit was recognized Dec. 13 as Firefighter of the Year by the chief officers of the Barren River Fire Department in Bowling Green. This award, given annually and voted by fellow firefighters, recognizes a firefighter who has demonstrated exemplary performance while carrying out their duties of protecting life and property.

Ian started his firefighting career with the Payneville Fire Department in Meade County. He is employed by New Mather Metals in Franklin and is a full-time student at Western Kentucky University.

The board of directors, officers and fellow firefighters of Barren River Fire agree Pettit is deserving of this award and recognition, given his professionalism, dedication, work ethic, passion for learning and his positive attitude toward the community and his fire service family.

Ian is the son of Gary and Monica Lytle, Payneville.
