Alexa Adams goes to state
Miss Teen Meade County 2006 Alexa Adams, 14, Brandenburg, represented Meade County with elegance and grace at the state Miss Teen pageant. Out of 90 other county winners in Kentucky, Alexa placed first in interview and fifth runner-up overall.
She looked beautiful, and it was not overlooked. Frankie Simmons was one of five judges and approached Alexa after the pageant. Simmons currently represents Miss USA, California, and Ohio, and has been in over 50 Coca-Cola commercials. He also coaches, trains and judges the Miss USA Pageant. He stated he was interested in representing Alexa in commercial and runway modeling. He gave her all his information, and Alexa’s parents, Billy and Rhonda Adams, are looking into whether to sign him as her agent.
This year the Meade County Fair was awarded with being one of the most “Upcoming Fairs of the State.” This not only helps the pageant program but the fair itself. This proves that you do not have to be from the largest county to be recognized and scouted. The fair, run by David Pace, and the pageant, directed by Susan Padgett, are doing a tremendous job of making Meade County a county to contend with. They should be acknowledged for their hard work, countless hours and their dedication to making our fair better every year.
Alexa has goals of competing in the Miss Teen USA Pageant as soon as she reaches the required age limit, and it looks like she is on her way!
Alexa personally wanted to thank her parents, little sister Jesse, her grandparents, Aunt Laura and Kayla English, the Brown family, Mandy Waters and family, oSha Shireman, Monique Black (hair), Madonna Durbin (beautiful hair and makeup), Gabby Ison, and a special thanks to Susan Padgett for all her time and effort preparing Alexa for state, and, of course, the Meade County Fair Board. Your support will never be forgotten!
