George R. Mattingly, 59, Irvington, died Sept. 2, 2005, at his residence. He was born July 25, 1946, in Webster, the son of the late Jack B. Mattingly Sr. and Emma Simpson Mattingly. He was a plumber and pipefitter with civil service, Fort Knox, and was an archeologist, a Navy veteran of Vietnam and a member of Raymond Baptist Church. Mr. Mattingly is survived by his wife, Cathy Mattingly; two sons, Donald Mattingly and Joshua Mattingly, both of Webster; two daughters, Rhonda Robertson and Amanda Mattingly, both of Webster; five grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Mattingly, El Paso, Texas, and William Walter Mattingly, Albany, Ga.; and three sisters, Dorothy Lawson, Brandenburg, Mary Rose Butler and Ann Thomas, both of Webster. Funeral services were held Sept. 4 from Raymond Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Morris officiating.
