STANLEY N. DZIURGALSKI

Stanley N. Dziurgalski, 85, Ekron, died Sept. 9, 2005, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. He was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Walter Dziurgalski and Bernice Maciejewski Dziurgalski.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a sergeant with the 1st Armor Division during the invasion of North Africa and Italy. He retired from 32 years of civil service and was instructor on the main battle tank at the Armor School, Fort Knox. He was a master mason at Harrison Masonic Lodge #122 F&AM and a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Thompson, his first wife, Dorothy Walker, a sister, Helen Ryan, and a brother, Edmund Dziurgalski.

Mr. Dziurgalski is survived by three children, Sandra Roberts, Racine, Wisc., Barbara Headley, Greenville, Mich., and Michael Dziurgalski of South Carolina; two stepchildren, Tina Shephard, Lucedale, Miss., and James Walker, Mount Washington; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sept. 13 from the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with Rev. David Campbell officiating. Burial was in Buck Grove Cemetery with military honors.
