JOHN WILLIAM “J. W.” PADGETT John William “J.W.” Padgett, 77, Flaherty, died Sept. 25, 2005, at North Hardin Health & Rehabilitation Center, Radcliff. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Will and Della (Strieble) Padgett; two sisters, Dorothy Thomas and Elizabeth (Jib) Jones; and a brother, Eugene Padgett. Mr. Padgett is survived by three daughters, Alicia and Donnie Wheeler, Woodridge, Va., Peggy and Frank Hobbs, and Kathy and Frank Baker, all of Elizabethtown; and the children’s mother, Iona Padgett; nine grandchildren, Michael Gatrost, Erica Fackler, Natalie Clark, Nathan Hobbs, Chelsea Hobbs, Tara Wheeler, Brandon Wheeler, Chelsea Baker, and Melinda Keller; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a dear friend, Sarah Jane Cox. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m, Sept. 27, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, with Rev. Paul Beach officiating. Burial will be in the St. Martin Catholic Church Cemetery in Flaherty. The visitation will be on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. and on Tuesday from after 8 a.m. at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove.
