CLAUDE EARL COOPER, JR. Claude Earl Cooper, Jr., 80, passed away Sept. 21, 2005. Claude was the son of the late Georgia Rose Cunningham Cooper and Claude E. Cooper. He was a native of Concordia, and a resident of NewportNews, Va. since 1968. He was a Marine Corp Veteran of WW II. He retired from AAFES with 30 years of service and also from K-Mart as automotive and sporting goods manager. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid NCAA basketball fan. Claude was preceded in death by a son, Larry Joseph Cooper; a grandson, Joseph Andrew Kubel and his sister Ruth Alma Johnston. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bertha Ann Shircliffe Cooper; a son, David L. Cooper and his wife Susan, of Crestview, FL.; five daughters, Suzanne Seely and her husband, George, Patricia Michura and her husband, Anthony, Judy Roman and her husband, Danny, all of Gloucester, VA., Karen Kubel and her husband, Dan of Fredrick, Md., Sharon Cole and her husband, Ron, of Raleigh, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces. Funeral services were held Sept. 25 at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va. with burial in Rosewell Memorial Gardens, Gloucester, Va. | This Weeks Obituaries | Obituary Archives |
