BERTHA MAXINE SANDS BALLMAN Bertha Maxine Sands Ballman, 74, Hardinsburg, died Aug. 13, 2005, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Breckinridge County, the daughter of the late Sammy Sands and Donna Bruggeman Sands. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and watching TV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Ballman and three sisters, Esther Whelan, Mary Agnes and Lotus Laverne Sands. Mrs. Ballman is survived by three sons, Sonny (Phyllis) Ballman, Guston, Robbie (Debbie) Ballman, Flaherty, and Mike (Lisa) Ballman, Bewleyville; three daughters, Brenda Leckey, Woodbrodge, Va., Charlotte Ballman, Flaherty, and Beverly Ballman, Hardinsburg; a brother, R.V. Sands, Louisville; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Aug.17, from the chapel of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home with Brother Gary Stevenson officiating.
