REV. HARMON REEVES POPHAM

Rev. Harmon Reeves Popham, 76, Elizabethtown, died Sept. 30, 2005, as a result of an automobile accident.

A native of Meade County, he was a 1957 graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was the pastor at Tunnel Hill Baptist Church for 33 years and was the current pastor of Blue River Island Baptist Church in Battletown since 2000.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Belva Crecilius Popham.

Rev. Popham is survived by his wife, Geraldine Bailey Popham; two sons, Harmon Mark (Sherry) Popham, Rineyville, and David Kentner (Kerrie) Popham, Vernal, Utah; two daughters, Ellen Gail Popham, Seabrook, Texas, and Kathris Leanne (Daren) Hart, Elizabethtown; a brother, William Popham, Battletown; seven sisters, Virgie Thompson, Elizabethtown, Ruth Turton, Plymouth, Fla., Kathryn Thompson, Bernice Popham and Lorene Lovan, all of Evansville, Ind., Marian Kidder, Flaherty, and Margaret Bailey, Sheridan, Ind.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 5 from Tunnel Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens, directed by Brown Funeral Home, Elizabethtown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 8 p.m. Oct. 4 and after 9 a.m. Oct. 5.
