PAUL EDWARD WHELAN Paul Edward Whelan died Aug. 14, 2005, at Baptist East Hospital. A native of Andyville, he was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre. He was a 1941graduate of Meade County High School, a 1949 graduate of the University of Kentucky and was employed for 33 years by the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Whelan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy C. Whelan; a son, Dr. Peter T. (Amy) Whelan; two daughters, Mary Paula (Frank) Whelan-Clements, and Patricia Whelan (Noel) Sena; and four grandchildren, Isabelle, Xavier and Grace Clements and Sean Whelan. Funeral Mass was held Aug. 17 from St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 3042 Hikes Lane, Louisville, directed by Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home.
