MARY VIRGINIA SHACKLETTE Mary Virginia Shacklette, 60, Louisville, died Jan. 5, 2007. She was born June 16, 1946, in Brandenburg, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Alice Shacklette. A registered nurse, she graduated from Saints Mary & Elizabeth School of Nursing. She retired from Methodist Hospital after serving in various positions in the OB/GYN and recovery departments. In recent years, she was self-employed as a certified case manager and disability management specialist. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Shacklette and Larry Shacklette. Ms. Shacklette is survived by three siblings, Jane (George) Clark, Naples, Fla., Gail (Kelly) King, Crestwood, and Terry (Nancy) Shacklette, Brandenburg; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Shacklette and Rebecca Shacklette; 12 nieces and nephews, Cindy Rubino, Sarah Beyer, David Clark, Will Shacklette, Christian Shacklette, Mary Margaret Miller, Elizabeth Lindsey, Sam Shacklette, Kelli Swinney, Greg King, Troy King and Alice Ann Shacklette; several grand nieces and nephews and a host of friends from the GNO group. Funeral services will be held Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. from St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Brandenburg, with burial to follow in St. George’s Cemetery, Brandenburg, directed by Pearson-Ratterman Funeral Home, Middletown. Friends may call at the funeral home Jan. 8 from 2-8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Louisville.
