Junior Dale Melvin, 65, Vine Grove, died Jan. 8, 2007 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert O’Dell and Vera Nipp Melvin. Mr. Melvin is survived by his wife, Diana Jayne Melvin, Vine Grove; two children, Robin (Dan) Goins, Elizabethtown, and Christopher Melvin, Cecelia; a granddaughter, Riley Goins; two sisters Clara Douglas, Oceanside, Calif., and Tammie (Jim) Roberts, Rauirka, Okla.; a mother-in-law, Louella Jayne, Vine Grove; a brother-in-law, Danny (Linda) Jayne, Elizabethtown, and a sister-in-law, Darlene (Rudy) Koop, Valdosta, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 11 p.m. Jan. 11, from the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with burial in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Jan. 10. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
