Charles Tackett, 80, Irvington, died May 22, 2007, at his home. He was born May 4, 1927, in Versailles, the son of Noah H. and Florence True Tackett. He retired from LG&E in Louisville, was a member of Local 21 Electrical Workers and a World War II Merchant Marine veteran. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Tackett. Mr. Tackett is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian Wise Tackett; two sons, Michael (Janet) Tackett, Louisville, and Stephen (Susan) Tackett, Brandenburg; three daughters, Rebecca (Kenneth) Montgomery, Cynthia (Roger) Blevens, all of Louisville, and Cathy Mattingly, Webster; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Tipton, Louisville. Cremation was chosen.
