MARY EVELYN WATHEN

Mary Evelyn Wathen, 87, Payneville, died June 13, 2007, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wathen; a son, Terry Edward Wathen; a sister, Della Mattingly; and her brothers, Lamar Pollock, Leo Pollock, Arthur Pollock and Donald Pollock.

Mrs. Wathen is survived by four children, Fay (Roger) Carter, Irvington, Janet (John) Pike, Payneville, Kelly (Teri) Wathen, Payneville and Kay (Johnnie) Curry, Big Sandy, Tenn.; four sisters, Eula Mattingly, Rhodelia, Maxine Wafford, Louisville, Monnie Clompton, Louisville, and Lorene Whitworth, Irvington; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 16 from St. Mary Magdalen Church, Payneville, with Rev. Bob Abel officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Daren Wathen, Barett Wathen, Nathan Carter, Wesley Pike, Johnnie Curry III and Mickey Chism.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Mary Magdalen Church building fund.
