Maj. Michael Lewis Mundell, 47, Brandenburg, died Jan. 5, 2007, while serving in the United States Army in Fallujah, Iraq. He was born April 14, 1959, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Oliver Dale and Helen Louise Lamoreaux Mundell. He was a member of the VFW and coached youth soccer, baseball and football in Meade County for several years. Maj. Mundell is survived by his wife, Audrey Cundiff Mundell, Brandenburg; four children, Erica Lynne Mundell, Ryan Daniel Andrew Mundell, Zachary Lewis Mundell and Thomas Dale Mundell; a sister, Deanna (Kenneth) Sofranko, Pittsburgh, Pa.; a niece, Taylor Sofranko; and a nephew, Kenny Sofranko. Funeral services will be held Jan. 14 at 3 p.m. from the Prichard Chapel at Fort Knox. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Irvington, directed by Hager Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home Jan. 12, 4-9 p.m., Jan. 13, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., and after 9 a.m. Jan. 14.
