Margie Jean Smith Slaughter, 67, Brandenburg, died June 28, 2007, at her home. She retired from Whirlpool in Evansville, Ind. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Mary Smith, and three brothers, Sherman Jr., Carter and Don. Mrs. Slaughter is survived by her husband, Carl Slaughter, Brandenburg; two sons, Jeff Richards and Tony Richards, both of Evansville, Ind.; three sisters, Louise Jenco, Florida, Bernice Halter, Colorado, and Alice Devers, Vincennes, Ind.; a brother, Richard Smith, Boonville, Ind.; a granddaughter, Miranda, Evansville; two great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. Funeral services were held July 2 from the chapel of Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, Henderson, with Rev. David Mabrey officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson.
