JOHN THOMAS HOBBS JR. John Thomas Hobbs Jr., 91, Flaherty, died July 17, 2007, at Bee Hive Assisted Living, Brandenburg. He was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leola Marie Hobbs; a daughter, Theresa Marie Hobbs; and six grandsons. Mr. Hobbs is survived by nine children, Betty (Johnnie) Hart, Louisville, Benny Hobbs, Irvington, Mary (Frankie) LaRoche, San Pedro, Calif., Frank (Peggy) Hobbs, Elizabethtown, Martha (Bobby) Pleasant, Madisonville, Gene (Lisa) Hobbs, Flaherty, Yvonne (Rocky) Howitz, Lexington, Darlene (Dale) Ross, Flaherty, and Phillip (Terri) Hobbs, Flaherty; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral mass will be held July 20 at 11 a.m. from St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty with Rev. Paul Beach officiating. Burial will be in the St. Martin Catholic Church Cemetery, directed by Nelson Edelen Bennett Funeral Home. Honoring him as pall bearers will be his grandsons. Friends may call at the funeral home July 19, 3-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. July 20.
