RUTH HADDIX

Ruth Haddix, 81, Muldraugh, died July 31, 2007, at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, Louisville. She was born July 27, 1926, the daughter of Elza and Sallie McCorkle Wells.

She was a graduate of Ekron High School and was secretary/treasurer of the alumni association, a member of Barker Chapter 79, O.E.S, a member of and church clerk of Muldraugh Baptist Church for 30 years, former treasurer, Salem Association of Baptists, former Muldraugh librarian and Muldraugh columnist for the Meade County Messenger.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Lucille Wood, Delpha Norris, Bessie Streble, Pearl Basham and Velma Roberts; and a brother, Basil Wells.

Mrs. Haddix is survived by her husband, Harold Kenneth Haddix; two sons, Bobby (Sue) Deyo, Fort Mitchell, and Kenny (Cheryl) Haddix, Richmond; three grandchildren, Megan Deyo Belcher, Mary Haddix and Michael Haddix; a great-grandson, Hayden Belcher; and a brother, Carl Wells, Brandenburg.

Funeral services were held Aug. 3 from Muldraugh Baptist Church with Rev. David Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Bethany Memorial Gardens, directed by Hager Funeral Home.
