MSG Donald Edward Callecod (Ret.), 67, Flaherty, died Sept. 4, 2007, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Civil Service. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Flaherty Fire Department since 1979 and served as an elected trustee for 11 years, a volunteer EMT since 1985, active in the development of the Flaherty BallPark, coached 5th- and 6th-grade basketball for nine years, was a member of VFW Post #10281 and the American Red Cross and a former 3rd District Magistrate of the Meade County Fiscal Court. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Callecod, and a sister, Winnie Callecod. Mr. Callecod is survived by his wife, Donna Callecod, Flaherty; five children, Sheryl Hamilton, Elizabethtown, Randy (Cindy) Auler, Novi, Mich.; Tim (Debra) Auler, Morristown, Tenn., Terry Callecod, and Tina (Byron) Tomlinson, all of Terre Haute, Ind.; his mother, Janella Callecod, Terre Haute, Ind.; five grandchildren; four siblings, Rita Simon, Nashville, Tenn., Ruth (Tom) Obert, Alexandria, Minn., Faith Evitts, and Dan (Carolyn) Callecod, all Terre Haute, Ind. Funeral services were held Sept. 7 from the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home, Vine Grove, with Brother Randy Johnson officiating.
