SSG KEVIN RAY BROWN

Staff Sergeant Kevin Ray Brown, 38, Fort Hood, Texas, died Sept. 25, 2007, while serving his country in Muqdadiyah, Iraq.

He was assigned to the 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas, and he graduated from Harrah High School in Harrah, Okla.

SSG Brown is survived by his wife, Magdalena Diocson Brown, Fort Hood, Texas; two daughters, Charlene Brown and Maria Brown, both of Fort Hood; two stepchildren, Pamala (Shawn) Lambert, Frisco, Texas, and Jeremy Chambers, Fort Hood, Texas; his parents, Richard and Glenda Brown, Harrah, Okla.; a granddaughter, Eleasha Lambert; his sister and brother-in-law, Brandy and Bo Ross of Oklahoma; his grandmother, Alene Kindreck, Mid West City, Okla.; his great-grandmother, Vida Martin, Carney, Okla.; a nephew, Bo Ross Jr.; and cousins, Beth Larrington, Elizabethtown, and James Earl Brown, Rineyville.

Funeral services will be held Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. from New Salem Baptist Church, Vine Grove, with a U.S. Army Chaplain and Rev. Rick Breeze officiating. Burial will be in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors, directed by Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, Vine Grove. Friends may call at the funeral home Oct. 2, 6-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Oct. 3.
