William Bert Parr, died 63, Sept. 30, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. He was born April 14, 1944, in Mt. Vernon, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas S. Parr and Cora Conrad Parr Pond, and a sister, Beatrice Hodge. He lived most of his life in Florida, but also resided in Tennessee before moving back to Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army and was most recently employed as an over the road truck driver with Belmont Freight Corporation. Mr. Parr is survived by his wife, Patricia Parr; a daughter, Rachel (Eddie) Bellamy, and grandchildren, Cade and Miley Bellamy, all of Bridgeport, Ala.; stepdaughter, Melissa Hall, North, S.C.; brothers John (Dianna) Parr, Blaine, Tenn., David (Krystal) Parr, Taswell, Ind., Forrest (Barbara) Myers, Bumpus Mills, Tenn., and Paul (Alice) Myers, English, Ind.; his best friend and “little brother,” Eddie Robbins; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Oct. 2 at noon EDT from Parr-Frans Cemetery, Battletown, directed by Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home.
