SISTER MARY DAVID THOMAS Sister Mary David Thomas, 97, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died Oct. 3, 2007, at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 79th year of religious life. She was born in St. Louis, Mo., and grew up in Marion County. An educator for 49 years, she taught at St. Martin of Tours School, Flaherty, in 1930. She taught in many other schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville and the Diocese of Owensboro, and in Missouri, where she also served in parish ministry. From 1983 until her retirement in 1987, she ministered in health care at Mount Saint Joseph. Sister Mary David Thomas is survived by nieces and nephews and the members of her religious community. The funeral Mass will be held Oct. 5 at 10:30 a.m. from Mount Saint Joseph. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Oct. 4 with a wake service following at 6:30 p.m. Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro, is in charge of arrangements.
