JOHN ALLEN CARTER SR.
He graduated from Meade County High School in 1957 and attended Bellarmine College. He retired from City Bank in Dallas, Texas, as vice president of marketing. He was a member of St. Phillips Church, Lewisville, Texas, a member of Knights of Columbus in both Louisville and Lewisville, Texas, and a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary O’Bryan Carter (Dolly) and Carlton Carter; a sister, Carole Dowell; and a brother, George Carter. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Carter; a son, John Allen Carter Jr.; five sisters, Marinell Carnal, Lewisville, Texas, Joyce Whelan, Brandenburg, Shayrn Bradley, Jeffersonville, Ind., Audrey (Tom) Hamm, Memphis, Ind., and Theresa Biblehauser, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a very special uncle, John O’Bryan, Payneville; his mother-in-law, Flossie “Nan” Roberts, Louisville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Burial was Oct. 20 in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice & Palliative Care of Louisville.
