MICHAEL A. ‘MIKE’ DOWELL

Michael A. “Mike” Dowell, 61, Hardinsburg, died Oct. 26, 2007, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born April 2, 1946, in Jefferson County, the son of the late Theodore and Cecile Roberts Dowell.

He was owner and operator of Dowell’s Water Service and enjoyed collecting trains, slot cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wanda Wagoner.

Mr. Dowell is survived by his wife Wanda; and two sons and daughters-in-law Mickey (Lori) Dowell, Hardinsburg, and Mark (Carletta) Dowell, Custer; a daughter and son-in-law Traci (Mike) Helm, Hardinsburg; his grandchildren, Cassi, Bradley, Hannah, Brandon and Bryton Dowell and Quinton and Wyatt Himmelhaver; two sisters, Bobbi Shartzer and Margie (Charlie) Gentry, all of Shepherdsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie (Janet) Dowell and Phillip (Anna Margaret) Dowell, all of Hardinsburg; a brother-in-law, Tim Wagoner, Shepherdsville; and serveral nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. CDT from the chapel of the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Northcutt officiating. Burial will be in the Horsley Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Oct. 29, 3-8 p.m., CDT, and after 8 a.m. Oct. 30.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Friendship Baptist Church or the Horsley Chapel United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
