Marion Forrest Hawkins, 83, Irvington, died Nov. 4, 2007, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Whitesville, the son of Marion F. Hawkins Sr. and Ada Blake Hawkins. He was retired from Olin Chemical Corporation after more than 30 years, a World War II Marine veteran. He was a graduate of Columbia High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty. Mr. Hawkins is survived by three nieces, Allie Sumner, Robin Smolka and Cindy Basham Dowell, who was like a daughter; and Kelly Burnett, who was like a granddaughter. A memorial service will be held Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. CST from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington. Friends may call at the funeral home Nov. 10, 9-11 a.m. Cremation was chosen.
