CHARLES W. POWELL Charles W. Powell, 83, Vine Grove, died Nov. 17, 2007, at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Radcliff. Born in Ekron, he was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Donald Medley; and a grandson, Brandon Frakes. Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Iva Powell, Vine Grove; a daughter, Susan Elaine Biggs, Radcliff; a son, James Edward (Vickie) Powell, Radcliff; a stepdaughter, Debbie Frakes, Vine Grove; a stepson, Billy Joe (Brenda) Medley, Radcliff; a special friend, Dale Cox, Vine Grove; five grandchildren, Mallory Biggs, Camille Medley, Christie Wetzel, Justin Frakes and Nathan Frakes; and two great-granddaughters, Ava Wetzel and Katie Frakes. The funeral mass was held Nov. 20 from St. Brigid Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel L. Lincoln officiating. Burial was in the St. Brigid Church Cemetery, Vine Grove, directed by Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, Vine Grove. Condolences may be left online at www.nebfh.com.
