Helm D. Lewis, 84, Union Star, died Dec. 13, 2007, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Hardinsburg. He was born June 23, 1923, the son of John Conard and Mary Nancy Curry Lewis. He was an Army veteran of World War II, retired from Meade County RECC and a farmer. Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Catherine Humphrey Lewis; five children, Charles (Betty) Lewis, Colorado Springs, Colo., Elaine Lewis, Lewisport, Glenda Lewis, Bowling Green, Sandra (Dennis) Linder, Munfordville, and Joseph Lewis, Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in a private family service Dec. 17 from the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. John Bennett officiating. Burial was in English Cemetery, Ammons.
