HAROLD F. ‘TONY’ AMMONS

Harold F. “Tony” Ammons, 76, Guston, died Dec. 16, 2007, at his residence.

He was a deacon in the Hill Grove Church of God of Prophecy and a 55-year member of Local 181 International Union of Operating Engineers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jessie Lee Ammons; a son, Monty K. Ammons; two brothers, Joseph (Jack) Ammons and Claude Ammons; a sister, Zola Lee Ammons; three half sisters, Mary Lela Sheron, Lena May Ammons and Frances (Lucille) Seaton; and a half brother, Fletcher Ammons.

Mr. Ammons is survived by his wife, Ruth Thornhill Ammons; a daughter, Joy (Brian) Mills; two sisters, Nannie Clark and Maxine McOy; and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. EST from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington. Burial will follow in Big Springs Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Dec. 19, 3-9 p.m., and after 9 a.m. Dec. 20.
