ROBERT WALTON HYLAND SR.

Robert Walton Hyland Sr., 65, Cleveland, Tenn., died March 2, 2007, at home. He was born Sept. 17, 1941, in Fulton, the son of the late Gladys and Robert Hyland.

He was a graduate of Murray State University and retired from Olin Corporation after 36 years of service both at the Charleston and Doe Run plant in Kentucky. He was a life member of the Alumni Association and fellow of the University of Kentucky. He attended Broad Street United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dr. John Hyland; and a sister, Jean Ann Hyland.

Mr. Hyland is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynn Bushart Hyland; a daughter, Sara Hyland (Ralph) Tentler; a son, Robert Walton Hyland Jr. and his fiancée Cheryl Burr Stanger; two grandchildren, Robert Cooper Tentler and Callahan Grace Tentler, both of Cleveland, Tenn.; a sister, Catherine Hyland (Douglas) Williams, Brentwood, Tenn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Susan and Richard Cardwell, Naples, Fla., Ward and Nelda Bushart, Fulton, Tom Bushart, Lexington, and Edwina Hyland, Owensboro.

Funeral services were held March 5 from Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Ferguson and Rev. Debbie Stokes officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens, directed by Ralph Buckner Funeral Home & Crematory.

Pallbearers were Paul Hyland, Phil Hyland, Mark Hyland, Chris Hyland, Steve Hyland, Scott Hyland, Hayden Williams and David Hyland. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Cardwell, Ward Bushart, Tom Bushart, Doug Williams, Rick Cardwell, Ward Bushart III and Dan Foreman.
