Russell Greenwell, 77, died Dec. 30, 2006, at his residence in Rhodelia. He was born July 16, 1929, the son of the late Horace Fred and Louise Payne Greenwell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Lincoln Trail Antique Power of the Past and a member of St. Theresa Church. Mr. Greenwell is survived by two brothers, Eddie Greenwell, Payneville, and Horace Greenwell, Brandenburg; and several nieces and nephews Funeral services were held Jan. 5 from St. Theresa Church, Rhodelia, with Rev. Bob Abel officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Mike Greenwell, William Mattingly, Roger Greenwell, Dale Greenwell, Randall Greenwell, Mark Stith, Phillip Stith and Walter Redman.
