BARBARA MARIE BURLEM Barbara Marie Burlem 58, Flaherty, died March 17, 2007, at St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, Louisville. She was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty. She was preceded in death by her father, Louie Saumier. Mrs. Burlem is survived by her husband, Edward Burlem III, Flaherty; two daughters, Kerry Ann and Brenda, both of Brandenburg; a son, George C. Reyes II, Detroit, Mich.; three stepsons, Edward Burlem IV, New York, N.Y., Gregory Burlem, Louisville, and Brandon Burlem, New Hampshire; her mother, Theresa Saumier, of Massena, N.Y.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy and Deborah, both of Massena, N.Y.; two brothers, Lucien R. Saumier, of Massena, N.Y, and Lance Saumier, Florida. A funeral mass will be held March 20 at 10 a.m. from St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, with Rev. Paul Beach officiating. Cremation will follow the service, handled by Coffey & Chism Funeral Home, Vine Grove. Friends may call at the funeral home March 19, 5-8 p.m., and after 9 a.m. March 20. There will be a prayer service Monday at 7 p.m. from the funeral home. Barbara’s wishes were for no one to wear coats, ties or fancy dresses.
