JAMES SUMNER WOOLFOLK James Sumner Woolfolk, 71, Brandenburg, died March 18, 2007, at the Medco Center of Brandenburg. He was born May 16, 1935, in Meade County, the son of the late Robert L. and Eleanor (Crosier) Woolfolk. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, a retiree of Olin Corporation and Donovan Controls Company; a member and former Grandmaster of Harrison Masonic Lodge #122 F&AM. He served as a magistrate on Meade County Fiscal Court for 22 years. He and his wife were square dancers and belonged to the Oxbow Spinning Wheels of Brandenburg, as well as the Rambling Rebels in Indiana. He was also a member of the Brandenburg United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Brown and Virginia Ellis; and a brother, Robert L. Woolfolk. Mr. Woolfolk is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Woolfolk; four sons, James S. (Julie) Woolfolk Jr., Mabelvale, Ark., William A. Woolfolk, Adam F. (Jennifer) Woolfolk and Matthew R. Woolfolk, all of Brandenburg; five grandchildren, Zachary Woolfolk, Joshua Woolfolk, Nicholas Woolfolk, Morgan Woolfolk and Kurtis Woolfolk. Funeral services will be held March 21 at 2 p.m. from Brandenburg United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Cap Anderson Cemetery, directed by Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home March 20, 3-9 p.m., and after 8:30 a.m. March 21. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home March 20 at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be James S. Woolfolk Jr., William A. Woolfolk, Adam F. Woolfolk, Matthew R. Woolfolk, Zachary Woolfolk and Joshua Woolfolk. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Woolfolk, Morgan Woolfolk and Kurtis Woolfolk. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, 3703 Taylorsville Rd. Ste. 102, Louisville, KY 40220-1330.
