GEORGE EDWIN ‘EDDIE’ DAVIS

George Edwin “Eddie” Davis, 52, Cecilia, died June 28, 2008, at home.

The Hardin County native was a 33-year employee of ADM (formerly Moormans Feed). He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church. He served on three mission trips to Kenya, Africa, where he shared the Gospel and farming skills with the tribesmen. He was a member of the Order of Kentucky Colonels and a well-known farmer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Davis, on May 19, 2008.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hay Davis; three daughters, Sara (Greg) Meredith, Clarkson, Suzie (Chris) Hart, Georgetown, and Shannon (Justin) Childers, Eastview; his father, G.A. Davis, Cecilia; two sisters, Kandy (Jay) Swanson, Mentica, Calif., and Pam (Frank) Romero, Louisville; six grandchildren, McKenzie Bryant, Nathan Meredith, Carson Meredith, Autumn Hart, Madisen Childers and Hannah Childers; and his grandmother, Kathleen Johnson Booker, White Mills.

Funeral services will be held July 2 at 2 p.m. from Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Friends may call July 1, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and July 2, after 9 a.m. at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the missions program at Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church.
