JAMES H. ‘JIMMIE’ DURHAM

James H. “Jimmie” Durham, 74, Garrett, died July 7, 2008, at home. He was born May 8, 1934, the son of the late David and Flora Mae Durham, Irvington.

He retired from Olin Corporation in 1991 after working 40 years. He was a member of the Irvington Masonic Lodge #868 for 50 years. He was an avid fisherman and spent much of his retirement at his fishing camp in Texas.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jed Durham, and a brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Dixie Durham.

Mr. Durham is survived by his wife, Rita Nash Durham; a daughter, Susan (Manny) Garcia; a son, Jason Durham; three stepchildren, Dwayne (Paula) Doner, Annette (Charlie) Ammons and Craig (Kim) Doner; a sister, Betty Wilson; grandchildren, Jamie and Jill Hockenberry, David and Scott Durham, Brandy and Brandon Doner, Chris Galloway and Steven and Mitchell Doner; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Hockenberry, Libbee and Laura Galloway.

Funeral services will be held July 10 at 2 p.m. EDT from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home July 9, 5-9 p.m. A Masonic service will be held July 9 at 7:30 p.m. from the funeral home.
