Edward Lee “Big Ed” Yates Sr., 59, Rineyville, died July 23, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown. He was employed with Keyboard Carriage. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Yates; his mother, Martha Borders Yates Grimes; and a brother, Kenny Yates. Mr. Yates is survived by five children, Eddie Yates, Sonora, Tim (Shae) Yates, Cecilia, Richard (Terisa) Yates, Sonora, Christina (Joe) Rigsby, Bowling Green, and Steven Yates, Hodgenville; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond (Carol) Yates and Robert (Blanca) Grimes; and a sister, Gina Grimes. Funeral services were held July 28 from the chapel of Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, Vine Grove, with Bro. John Teegarden officiating. Burial was in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, with military honors. Condolences may be left online at www.nebfh.com.
