VERNON LEE BURTON SR.

Vernon Lee Burton Sr., 63, Harned, died Aug. 29, 2008, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg. He was born Aug. 15, 1945, in Louisville, to the late Charles James and Lida Grahm “Goodman” Burton Sr.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Louise Dollar Burton.

Mr. Burton is survived by three daughters, Shari Montiero, Williamsburg, Va.; Laura Young, Plantation, Fla., Amanda (David) Herron, Charlestown, S.C.; a son, Vernon Lee Burton Jr., Harned; a sister, Linda Duvall, Shelbyville; three brothers, Charles James Burton Jr., Mount Washington, Kenneth (Jenny) Burton, Little Rock, Ark., and Bruce (Mary) Burton, Middletown; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sept. 3 at the Clifton Mills Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Irvington.

The Alexander Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
