MONTY DALE PRESTON
He was a graduate of Fern Creek High School and Eastern Kentucky University. He knew many people through his work as an assistant dog warden for Meade County, and his “coffee groups” that met at Perna’s Place and Dairy Queen. Coffee was one of his favorite pastimes. He was also a member of the Fern Creek Masonic Lodge #955 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amon Preston and Doris Preston Walker, and a sister, Terri Ann Paulley. Mr. Preston is survived by two daughters, Dawn and Brandi Preston, and his wife, Donna Preston, all of Brandenburg; a sister, Audrey (Bob) Marcum, Greenville, Ind.; a special friend, Claudy Greer; nieces and nephews who will miss their “Uncle Monkey”; as well as a host of friends. Funeral services will be held Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with Rev. Sherman Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Cap Anderson Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sept. 22, 3-9 p.m., and after 8:30 a.m. Sept. 23.
