HOWARD SHIVELY JR.

Howard Shively Jr., 83, Radcliff, died Sept. 23, 2008, at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. He was born Sept. 9, 1925 in Tip Top.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he owned and operated Shively’s Auto Service for more than 50 years. He was a former Radcliff city councilman, former assistant chief of the Radcliff Fire Department, and a member of Stithton Baptist Church and Vine Grove Masonic Lodge #603 F. and A.M.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Kersey Shively; a son, Rodney H. Shively; and his parents, Howard F. and Hazel Shively.

Mr. Shively is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Happel, Radcliff; a granddaughter, Cari and Jeff Hale, Vine Grove; a great-granddaughter, Holly-Marie Hale; and a sister, Doris Pile, Elizabethtown.

Funeral services will be held Sept. 26, from the chapel of Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff, with Pastor Gregg Curtis officiating. Burial was in the Hardin Memorial Park in Elizabethtown.
