ARTHUR GILBERT BARKS JR.

Arthur Gilbert Barks Jr., 57, a native of Harrison County, Ind., died Jan. 24, 2008. He was born Jan. 16, 1951, the son of Waunita Cunningham Barks and the late Arthur G. Barks Sr.

He was the owner of Jr. Barks Excavating, and co-owner of Barks Welding Supply. He was a farmer and a member of the board of directors of the Harrison County Agricultural Society.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Ralph Barks.

Mr. Barks is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Sonner Barks; his mother, Waunita Barks, Corydon, Ind.; a son, Aaron Lee Barks, Central, Ind.; a daughter, Lisa Marie Barks Satori, Corydon, Ind.; a brother, Paul Barks, Corydon, Ind.; two sisters, Alice Yeager and Fern Lawrence, both of Corydon, Ind.; and three grandsons, Jesse Barks, Shelby Satori and Shawn Satori.

Funeral services will be held Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon Ind., with the Rev. Rick Utz officiating. Burial will be in New Amsterdam Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Jan. 26 from 4-8 p.m., Jan. 27 9 a.m.-8 p.m., and Jan. 28 after 9 a.m.
