MAY D. CARMAN May D. Carman, 96, Elizabethtown, died Feb. 8, 2008, in Bardstown. She was a native of Breckinridge County and formerly lived in the Rineyville area and in Florida before moving to Elizabethtown. She was the oldest living member of the Ridge Spring Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arba C. Carman; her parents, Thomas Joseph and Elizabeth Lee Hawkins Basham; two brothers, Hobert Basham and Lonnie Basham; and two sisters, Annie Greenwood Dowell and Alma Hawkins. Mrs. Carman is survived by three daughters, Jewel (W.L.) Fible, Elizabethtown, Yolanda (Joe) Hobbs, Flaherty, and Darlene Hostetter, Dade City, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Debbie Hobbs, Ohio, Kyle Dean Epperson, Kelly Joe Hobbs and Cathy Hourigan, all of Lexington, Craig Nelson, Mike Nelson and Coleena Hanson, all of Florida, and Kevin Hobbs of England; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Don Sexton officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Feb. 11, 4-8 p.m., and after 10 a.m. Feb. 12.
