HENRY ROBERT HOCKMAN
Henry Robert Hockman, 82, Brandenburg, died Jan. 5, 2010, at his residence. He was born July 16, 1927, in Louisville, to the late Theodore and Lillie McGrady Hockman.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, retired from Fort Knox where he was employed with civil service and worked as a mechanic with the motor pool. He was also the owner/operator of Hockman Garage and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Hockman.
Mr. Hockman is survived by his wife, Betty Hockman, Brandenburg; a daughter, Paulette (Larry) Whelan, Brandenburg; step-children, Roger (Melba) Allen, Brandenburg, Sharon Allen, San Francisco, Calif., and Ricky Allen, Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Juanita Meeks, Brandenburg, Faye (Joe) Sedoris, Lexington, Sylvia (Jesse Kennedy) Humphrey, Brandenburg and Frances (Bennie) Bruner, Brandenburg; a brother, Dennis (Barbara) Hockman, Louisville; two granddaughters; and four step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan. 8, from the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Burial was in Cap Anderson Cemetery.
