‘TICKLE’ THOMPSON

James E. “Tickle” Thompson, 91, Brandenburg, died Jan. 15, 2010, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Ind.

He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, a charter member of the Meade County Sportsman’s Club, a member of the Fort Knox Los Cazadores Archery Club, a Kentucky Colonel and a longtime radio and television repairman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Manning Thompson; parents, Eva and Jodie Thompson; two sisters, Lorene King and Mary Jo Treat; and two brothers, Pat and Frank Thompson.

Mr. Thompson is survived by a daughter, Joy Mangin (Donald) Self, Brandenburg; two brothers, Charlie (Rita) Thompson and Ronald (Doris) Thompson; four grandchildren;and six great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Jan. 18, from St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial was in St. George Cemetery, directed by Hager Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Nathan Meadows, Francis Beck, Jeff Meadows, Tom Beck, Chris Corum, Jonathan Mangin and Josh Thompson.
