ARTHUR RAY VANOVER
Arthur Ray Vanover, 71, Brandenburg, died Jan. 24, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
He was head deacon at Salem Baptist Church, retired from Olin and Arch Chemicals after 43 years, was Secretary/Treasurer of Hillcrest Country Club, on the board of directors of Doe Run Federal Credit Union, former president of the Jaycees, for 25 years was secretary/treasurer of the Wednesday Night Commercial and Olin Bowling Leagues and a member of Harrison Lodge #122 F.&A.M.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Lowell Vanover and his stepfather, Fred Reeves.
Mr. Vanover is survived by his wife, Fanny Ruth Vanover; three children, Cheryl Vanover, Eric (Dana) Vanover, Brandenburg, and Robin (Mark) Moore, Pewaukee, Wisc.;his mother, Pauline Reeves, Owensboro; three brothers, Randall (Peggy) Vanover, Mike (Kim) Reeves, Owensboro, and Denny (Gayle) Vanover, Panther; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Rusty.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 27, from Salem Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Hager Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Jan. 26 and after 9 a.m. Jan. 27.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Salem Baptist Church building fund.
