Profile on Longevity Dorothy Embry Sondergeld recently celebrated her 100th birthday. She was born Feb. 18, 1910, the daughter of Finnis and Bertha Keown Embry.

Army applauds support from Tony Brown Chevrolet Bob Knoll, vehicle manager of the Fort Knox Law Enforcement Command/Directorate of Emergency Services, presented Tony Brown, Billy Joe Vowels and Joe Brown a certificate of appreciation Feb. 27 at the dealership. The firm received it for outstanding customer service supporting the Fort Knox Directorate of Emergency Services vehicle program. “Your commitment to public safety and services reflects great credit upon you, Fort Knox and the surrounding communities,” the certificate reads.
Local student pledges sorority Emily Miller, a freshman at Centre College has pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. The Centre Greek community consists of eight national and international organizations dedicated to the ideals of brotherhood, sisterhood, leadership, scholastic achievement, community service, and social interaction. Miller is the daughter of Robert and Mary Margaret Miller, Brandenburg. She is a graduate of Meade County High School.
