Dorothy Embry Sondergeld recently celebrated her 100th birthday. She was born Feb. 18, 1910, the daughter of Finnis and Bertha Keown Embry.

KEITH M. TONEY

Air Force Airman Keith M. Toney graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airman Toney is the son of Joseph and Lora Toney, Muldraugh. He is a 2009 graduate of Meade County High School.

Army applauds support from Tony Brown Chevrolet

Bob Knoll, vehicle manager of the Fort Knox Law Enforcement Command/Directorate of Emergency Services, presented Tony Brown, Billy Joe Vowels and Joe Brown a certificate of appreciation Feb. 27 at the dealership. The firm received it for outstanding customer service supporting the Fort Knox Directorate of Emergency Services vehicle program. “Your commitment to public safety and services reflects great credit upon you, Fort Knox and the surrounding communities,” the certificate reads.


Amanda Leigh Santos

Lydia Santos proudly announces that her mommy, Amanda Santos, graduated from Western Kentucky University on Dec. 19, 2009.
Amanda received her bachelor’s of elementary education and graduated with honors in Gamma Beta Pi.
She is the wife of Milton and the daughter of Rick and Iris Mattingly, all of Brandenburg.

 


Local student pledges sorority

Emily Miller, a freshman at Centre College has pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. The Centre Greek community consists of eight national and international organizations dedicated to the ideals of brotherhood, sisterhood, leadership, scholastic achievement, community service, and social interaction. Miller is the daughter of Robert and Mary Margaret Miller, Brandenburg. She is a graduate of Meade County High School.
