Meade County Relay for Life held
May 20 and 21

Both old and new activities will be enjoyed at this year’s American Cancer Society’s Meade County Relay for life, to be held at Meade County High School’s track and field from 6 p.m. Saturday, May 20 until 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 21.

Love is in the air at Wave Revue

Love was in the air May 12 and 13 as the Meade County High School choral department presented Wave Revue 2006 – Love is in the Air. The show began with Cinemagic, a medley of Hollywood’s best love songs and moved from one number to the next with few glitches.

Muldraugh City Festival enjoyed by all ages

The city of Muldraugh held a two-day community festival on Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13. As always, the people of this city throw a great party that was put on by the people of Muldraugh partly for some good, clean family fun and partly to raise a little money for the betterment of the city.

Leo Club getting started in Meade County

The Lion’s Club formed in 1917 in the Chicago area. A few years later, Helen Keller challenged them to be “Knights of the Blind,” and their major function since has been to help the sight and hearing impaired. Recently, a youth affiliate of the North Hardin Lion’s Club – the Leo Club – formed in Meade County. They currently have six members, according to their adviser, Bill Albano.

Just because we may live in a small town doesn’t mean we can’t be subjected to a big-time scam. Muldraugh’s interim postmaster Nancy Casey shared a story about recent scams that have affected residents of Muldraugh.

During the May meeting of the Optimist Club of Meade County, an unexpected guest arrived, bearing awards for the president, secretary/treasurer and the club.

Meade County HOSA competes at state conference

On March 9-11, students representing Meade County HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) competed in Louisville at the 2006 state HOSA Conference. The following students from the health sciences program taught by Donna K. Lynch at the Meade County Area Technology Center competed.

Drugs and alcohol controlled his life

On May 5, Wayne Hoffman from Bowling Green shared his journey of alchol/drug abuse with Meade County High School students. While a child, his job was to get home before the other children and clean up his alcoholic mother who often lay passed out in her own vomit.
