SHERRIE SULLIVAN

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) has announced that Meade County High School student Sherrie Sullivan, Brandenburg, has been selected for membership. The society recognizes the top scholars in the nation and invites only those students who have achieved superior academic excellence. The announcement was made by NSHSS founder and chairman Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel Prize family.

KELLEY HARROP

Kelley Harrop, Brandenburg, was elected by his peers to be their student representative on the Elizabethtown Community & Technical College board of directors. Kelley’s leadership on campus for being part of the Student Government Association, the Baptist Campus Ministry, technical support and editor of the BCM newsletter, president of the Justice League World of Politics Club, and president of the Rotaract Club, which is sponsored by the Hardin County Rotary, has helped him be awarded a scholarship as student ambassador to the college.

On May 10, at the Main Post Chapel at Fort Knox, five Meade County High School seniors were among several seniors honored and awarded scholarships during the ESC and OCSC scholarship ceremony.

ALEXIS GRACE WALTON

Alexis Grace Walton was crowned Kentucky Cover Miss State Super Model. She won for overall best fashion, overall beauty, 1st place hillbilly wear, 1st place patriotic wear, and 2nd place swimwear. She competed against 15 girls at the state level and won two five-foot lighted trophies, three crowns and a small trophy with a Cover Miss sash.

Cap and gown for brother and sister

On Saturday, May 13, Meade County High School alumni Korin and Korey Kormick both donned mortarboards once again for graduation: Korey (salutatorian, MCHS 2002) as he received a bachelor of arts degree in history from Rhodes College, and Korin (valedictorian, MCHS 1996) as she was granted a master of music degree in vocal performance from the University of Louisville School of Music.
