Meade County archery tournament a success

Students from four elementary schools joined students from the middle school and high school for an in-county archery tournament with winners in each division.

113 students from all over the county participated in the archery tournament held Dec. 7. Participation doubled from last year’s in-county tournament and included students from Battletown, David T. Wilson, Ekron, Payneville, Stuart Pepper Middle School and Meade County High School.

The following is a list of the students who won awards:

Cub Division Girls: 1st Place – Kayla Parcell; 2nd Place – Gracie Fackler

Cub Division Boys: 1st Place – Josh Durbin; 2nd Place – Logan Hardesty

Elementary Division Girls: 1st Place – Ashlyn Mills; 2nd Place – Winnie Weick; 3rd Place – Bailey Thomas

Elementary Division Boys: 1st Place – Slater Adams & Levi Wilkins; 2nd Place – Dallas Allen; 3rd Place – Tyler Stull

Middle School Division Girls: 1st Place – Hannah Lewis; 2nd Place – Johnna Clark; 3rd Place – Samantha Dezelich

Middle School Division Boys: 1st Place – Nathan Parcell; 2nd Place – Dakota Adams; 3rd Place – Dalton Waters

High School Division Girls: 1st Place – Meagan Parcell; 2nd Place – Cortney Campbell; 3rd Place – Deanna Swink

High School Division Boys: 1st Place – Jordan Reichmuth & Justin Waters; 2nd Place – Michael Drust; 3rd Place – Zac Crutcher

Ron Dierson from Outdoor Connections and a student drew the raffle ticket for the $2,400 hunting trip. The winner was Brenda Phillips.
