Meade County PZ denies request By SANDRA STONE The Meade County Planning and Zoning Commission met March 15 with two rezoning requests on the agenda. The first was a request by Dana Cissell Filburn and Ben and Mary Cissell to rezone property on Clarkson Road from R-1 to A-1. This applicant did not appear before the commission, so the request was not heard. The second was a request by Terry Petit to rezone property on Meade Springs Road from R-1 to R-2 for the purpose of placing a modular home on the property. The request was unanimously denied based on finding of fact regarding the original zoning classification. Although the property in question had a singlewide mobile home on it when the zoning map was created, the zoning districts were established to meet certain goals established by the planning commission in the comprehensive plan. Therefore, the R-1 zoning stands. In other business, election of officers took place with Cheryl Gibson elected chair and Allen Flaherty elected co-chair.
