Habitat for Humanity raising funds for houses 10 and 11
In July 2005, a group of young people from Ann Arbor, Mich., chose Meade County as the place they wanted to be for a weeklong mission trip. And they knew exactly what they wanted to do: frame houses for Habitat for Humanity. They arrived in Meade County on a Sunday evening and got to work early Monday morning.

Profile on Longevity – Ida Rose Benham
Ida Rose Benham was born May 14, 1922, the eighth of nine children born to Henry and Louisa Shrewsbury. Her siblings were Ruth, Magdalene, Louis, Frank, Margaret, Viola (died at the age of 3), Edward, and J.W. Ida Rose’s only sibling still living is her brother J.W., who lives in Lansing, Mich. Henry and Louisa also raised their grandson Herbert Thompson, who was featured in this column in January 2007.
