The Meade County High School Alumni Association hosted the alumni banquet June 2 at Stuart Pepper Middle School. Graduates from 1934 to 2007, and their guests, attended the banquet which also honored the Class of 1957.

Youth day camp offered at Otter Creek Park
Camp Red Challenge, in partnership with the Fort Knox American Red Cross and the YMCA Camp Piomingo, is offering day camp sessions June 15-16 or June 29-30. The camp will take place at Otter Creek Park from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Adventures include disaster/wilderness survival, archery, rock climbing and mountain biking as well as Junior Red Cross health and safety courses and leadership development.

City of Brandenburg employee Richard Cissell recently concluded 12 years of employment May 31. “These city workers are the best,” he said during breaks from well-wishers and city officials at a retirement party in his honor. “Both mayors have been excellent and I have spent a lot of good years here.”

Meade County FBLA: creating stars at state!
On May 8, Meade County Future Business Leaders of America sent 27 members to Louisville to compete in the Kentucky state competition. The competition was held at the Executive West Hotel from Tuesday to Thursday (May 8-10). The Kentucky FBLA theme this year was “FBLA: Creating Stars.”
